UPS BIA Intern-Web Application Development in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

Business Information & Analysis serves many groups in UPS including Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Security. The Web Application Development Intern will develop interface designs incorporating appropriate visual representations of data. This position assists department in meeting their goals and further UPS' Strategy, Mission, and Purpose.

The Application Development Intern will be responsible for analyzing and developing intranet web based applications. These applications range from internal reporting of various business metrics to transactional applications capturing business critical information.

Other Duties:

  • Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development

  • Create Web Services with ASP.NET for back-end data interaction with SQL Server

  • Meet with end users to help write Business Requirements

  • Employ additional tools and technologies such as Dev Express, Tree Maps, Geographic Information Systems, jQuery, AJAX, and FusionCharts to add value and enhance usability

  • Meet with project team and stakeholder groups

Minimum Qualifiers

  • Completed web development coursework preferred

  • Majoring in or have completed degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

  • Experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook) or equivalent software preferred

  • Available to work a minimum of 35-40 hours per week preferred

  • Experience in SQL preferred
