UPS BIA Quality Assurance Associate in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Associate is responsible for executing and maintaining existing test scripts and for assisting QA management with the project development life cycle. He/She works closely with project teams throughout testing phases to provide input for improving project designs. This position reviews testing results with Application Development teams to ensure applications meet business needs.

The QA Associate is responsible for highlighting testing issues and errors. He/She conducts root cause analysis and recommends resolution steps to rectify application problems. This position ensures unit testing is thorough and develops applications to meet business needs.

Other Duties

  • Develops documented test plans and scripts based on requirements documentation and interviews with developers and other stakeholders.

  • Tests the data validation for monthly/weekly/daily application releases by executing manual and automated testing scripts (automated testing scripts are usually contained within the SQL Server environment and UFT executable files).

  • Monitors testing to ensure unit testing activities meet schedule requirements.

  • Supports project timelines to ensure adherence to established deadlines.

  • Documents test plans to ensure testing activities are properly recorded.

  • Provides ongoing application maintenance to ensure proper application functionality.

  • Documents issues and resolutions to communicate to project teams.

  • Applies System Tools and Utilities Knowledge: Demonstrates understanding of the tools and utilities used within UPS, as well as thevarious types of system tools and utilities available on the market; demonstrates understanding of the role these tools and utilities play in optimizing system development, accessibility, administration, and management.

  • Detail Orientation: Captures/documents specific and accurate information; learns subjects thoroughly and in detail; completes work with thoroughness; supplies appropriate detail when requested; maintains organized files.

  • Quality Assurance Knowledge: Communicates quality assurance methodology and explains desired outcomes of testing; identifies the steps in the project life cycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) – Preferred

  • Experience with application support software packages – Preferred

  • Knowledge of information system elements – Preferred
