UPS Compensation Systems Manager in Atlanta, Georgia
The Compensation Systems Manager is responsible for the strategy, design, and implementation of union-free Compensation programs in the U.S. He/She develops compensation plans that helps UPS effectively compete for talent in the marketplace and makes recommendations to management teams and the Salary Committee. This position ensures assigned UPS business units are compliant with the Salary Administration Procedures (SAP), recurring compensation reporting and ad hoc data analyses, and special projects. He/She works as a consultant to assist business leaders on compensation issues such as job evaluations, compensation philosophies, policies, programs and approaches, and related issues. This position provides guidance and troubleshoots issues to support the Employee Services group and other HR professionals on compensation matters.
Completes forecast analyses to ensure annual salary recommendations are consistent with industry standards and supports UPS's objectives.
Collaborates with functional managers (e.g., Human Resources (HR), Employee Services (ES), Work Force Planning (WFP), etc.) to process Compensation changes (e.g., merit increases, etc.) in a timely manner.
Develops and updates salary guidelines to provide guidance on resolving Compensation issues and plan administration.
Researches and evaluates the cost impact of compensation changes to present findings to the Salary Committee.
Conducts compensation analyses to satisfy audit requests (e.g., Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, etc.) from the Department of Labor (DOL).
Serves as a point of contact to disseminate information on Compensation issues for multiple plans.
Collaborates with Finance and Accounting for merit budget analysis to determine the overall cost to the company.
Reviews current Compensation plans and recommends changes (e.g., paid time off policies, etc.) to plan design to support the employee value proposition.
Conducts Research: Uses the research problem to guide relevant data gathering and benchmarking; develops a working knowledge of literature related to the research problem; minimizes personal biases that may impact the research process or outcomes; gathers data that represent all sides of the business case.
Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance Knowledge: Applies knowledge of agencies' functions and regulations to compliance and enforcement activities; identifies routine situations where the organization may be out of compliance as well as the specific impacts of non-compliance.
Technology Knowledge: Recognizes the basic impact of technology on UPS business, services, and processes; identifies technological barriers in achieving desired objectives; maintains appropriate breadth and depth of technological knowledge for current work assignment.
Certified Compensation Professional certification or ability to attain it – Preferred
Working knowledge of Statistics – Preferred
