UPS International Finance & Accounting Supervisor in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

The International Finance and Accounting (IFA) Supervisor designs, implements and maintains costing processes and related data for the IFA department. He/She researches and resolves business and data issues relating to UPS’s internal financial and operational systems and provides documentation of system components. This is an entry-level position commensurate with approximately 1-3 years of experience.

The IFA Supervisor meets with business users to generate a set of business requirements for the costing/financial applications. He/She works with the application developers to make sure all business requirements are built into the applications. This position tests changes and maintains tracking systems to resolve any issue.

Other Duties:

  • Analyzes report/output value issues to prevent future reporting/output value problems

  • Creates tests for data values to ensure proper design, maintenance, and functionality of database reports and output fields.

  • Write new SQL code using standard practices to meet departmental objectives

  • Solves system problems by identifying and applying resolutions to ensure proper system operations

  • Supports user base questions and provides feedback.

  • Accounting Knowledge: Demonstrates basic knowledge of accounting theory and principles.

  • Applies Database Knowledge: Demonstrates basic knowledge of database design principles; identifies users’ requirements and needs with guidance from others; demonstrates a basic understanding of the importance of maintaining and updating databases.

  • Detail Orientation: Distinguishes between “big picture” concepts and comments and specialized, smaller specific facts associated with work; notes the specifics of events and experiences; explains, in general, how details impact end goals or outcomes; ensures that work is completed accurately and with the appropriate level of detail.

  • Technology Knowledge: Recognizes the basic impact of technology on UPS business, services, and processes; identifies technological barriers in achieving desired objectives; maintains appropriate breadth and depth of technological knowledge for current work assignment.

Minimum Qualifiers

  • Bachelor’s Degree - Finance, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Management Information Systems or related field - Preferred

  • Experience with SQL – Preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products or similar software -Preferred
