UPS Package Operations Support Group (POSG) Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

The Package Operations Support Group (POSG) Specialist utilizes advanced data retrieval methods, analysis, and formats deliverables (e.g., reports, spreadsheets, etc.) to provide users with meaningful and interpretable information and respond to data requests. This position identifies appropriate information to share with stakeholders to ensure clarity, focus, and efficiency of data. He/She conducts service trend analysis to determine the best strategy for improving service. The POSG Specialist will investigate issues and collaborate with web developers to assess potential iGate web issues.

The POSG Specialist is responsible for providing operational data for UPS Industrial Engineering and package operations. This position generates queries to obtain data for internal customer requests, analyzes data to ensure the information is accurate, and meets customer needs. He/She conducts research and provides operational support and consults with internal customers (e.g., department management, etc.) to clarify information needs and ensure data provided meets expectations. The POSG Specialist maintains I-GATE websites to provide information, updates, and reports to Operations .

Other Duties

  • Receives and reviews complaint emails from shippers and UPS managers to eliminate and resolve concerns arising from various issues (e.g., shippers’ documents not being properly imaged, incorrect billing, etc.).

  • Utilizes advanced data retrieval methods (e.g., SQL queries, macros, etc.) to create and run queries efficiently.

  • Generates and distributes operational reports (e.g., Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) for UPS Industrial Engineering management to help identify service issues and support operational planning decisions.

  • Evaluates best practices to ensure consistent and quality customer service.

  • Analyzes iGate web-based data and works with web developers to ensure accurate and effective reporting.

  • Performs data analysis of selected elements to provide information (e.g., projects’ and initiatives’ status) to the UPS Industrial Engineering management team.

  • Technology Knowledge: Demonstrates a general understanding of technology used by the company; communicates basic technological concepts and terminology; applies standard technology in daily work.

  • Work Methods, Processes, Flows Analysis: Identifies routine work methods/processes/flows to analyze; describes in general terms, process capability studies; describes the basic steps in analysis of data related to people, technology, or information.

MINIMUM QUALIFIER

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Engineering Management - Preferred
