About this role:

The Senior Systems Programming Analyst is responsible for the evaluation, design, development, testing, operational maintenance, protection, and support of UPS technology assets through the entire life cycle (e.g., mainframe, midrange, open systems and x86/x64 architectures, storage, mobile and fixed devices, etc.). He/She contributes to the management of the evaluation, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, performance, capacity tuning, and support of third-party infrastructures, applications, and appliances (i.e., transaction, collaboration, communications protocols, application delivery, virtualization, and directory services). This position executes analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and support of storage and back-up and recovery solutions

The Senior Systems Programming Analyst provides analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and support of an Information Systems Security model for UPS Information Services (I.S.) environments (e.g., mainframe, midrange, open systems and x86/x64 architectures, mobile and fixed devices, etc.). He/She performs planning, diagnoses risk and system issues, and takes corrective actions to ensure continuity of operations. This position identifies and implements technologies and processes to improve the reliability, efficiency, and availability of the systems environment. Hershel develops business continuity design. This position utilizes supplied specifications and standardized tools for work assignments of moderate risk, impact, complexity, and scope.

The Senior. Systems Programming Analyst will perform various functions in the Package Engineering Team (PET) across a range of application suites to support the implementation of client/server application software. The Analyst is required to perform PET packaging/development, unit testing, execute lab environment installations, maintain lab environments, and troubleshoot installation issues. The individual will also provide technical guidance to less experience staff. Collaborates with teams and recognizes/integrates emerging technologies to achieve objectives. Application development experience is required. Excellent communications skills and ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Strong documentation, information gathering, analysis, problem solving, and collaboration skills are required. Works under moderate to light supervision and receives direction by Lead Team Members and Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience with XML, C# .NET, .NET ENVIRONMENT, Technical Knowledge of Hardware & Software

  • Intermediate-level proficiency with Object oriented Analysis & Design, Client Server Architecture, Citrix, Microsoft Office

  • Beginner-level proficiency with SQL Language, SQL Programming, Web Development Technologies, Tivoli, Team Track, Mercury QTP, Quality Center (QC)

Education:

The desired Senior Systems Programming Analyst will possess a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics or related field or with a minimum of three years of UPS experience.
