The GAC Assistant Manager is responsible for the accuracy of company financial statements for multiple legal entities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the monthly closing activities in accordance to US Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (“US GAAP”) and local statutory requirements

  • Reviews monthly variance analysis including correlation to operational results and interaction with operational business units

  • Reviews monthly reconciliations to ensure high quality compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP standards

  • Identifies and documents areas of concern within the reconciliation and develops corrective action plans where needed

  • Reviews self-audits to implement process improvement action plans

  • Manages transition of GL work from field locations into the GAC

  • Evaluates compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP methods; applies accounting knowledge to complex or unusual contexts; establishes company accounting controls and procedures; anticipates and addresses the impact of new accounting practices; advises others on accounting principles and practices

  • Liaises with internal and external auditors

  • Responsible for audit documentation, account analysis, annual financial statements and related statutory reports for both US GAAP and local statutory requirement

  • Will manage a team of staff accountants to support region internal customer service goals meeting pre-established metrics

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Possess 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or internal audit or public accounting in any industries

  • Minimum 2 years people management experience at supervisory capacity

  • Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant is required

  • Ability to evaluate compliance to US GAAP methods; applies accounting knowledge to complex or unusual contexts

  • Experience of designing and implementing new policies and procedures will be advantageous

  • An independent and effective team leader who able to coach team in driving result

  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Attention to detail and good problem solving skills

  • Good written and verbal communications skills

  • Candidate who proficient in multiple languages will be an added advantage
