Co-Op (Engineering Major - Senior)

About this role:

The Co-Op will perform duties and tasks to support full systems life cycle management (e.g. analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.) in Java/J2EE, Linux technology stack. He/She performs tasks within planned durations and established deadlines. This position collaborates with teams to ensure effective communication and to support the achievements of objectives. He/She provides development, maintenance, and support for applications.

Must be able to work 15 - 20 hours per week while school is in session. Potentially work 40 hours per week during the summer months.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with Java/J2EE, Linux shell scripting, JavaScript, HTML and JSON

  • Knowledge of Agile Development

  • Good analytical and technical skills

  • Good oral and written communication

  • Good time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to take initiative given mentoring by a Technical Lead or Manager

Education:

  • The desired Co-Op will be currently enrolled in a degreed college/university program pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline, or has graduated from a degreed college/university program within that last 24 months.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer

  • UPS employment sponsorship necessary for temporary or permanent employment with UPS

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated a degreed college/university program

  • Availability to work 15-20 hours per week while school is in session, and 40 hours per week during the summer months
