UPS IE Building & Facilities Supervisor in Alpharetta, Georgia

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to move your Engineering career forward? UPS is seeking an Industrial Engineering (IE) Supervisor, and we want to hear from you! The IE Supervisor works with Engineering departments to develop, implement and deploy approved operational processes and best practices throughout the company. He/she trains IE resources in the approved processes and standards for work measurement application and maintains the Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) database.

The IE Supervisor assists in new and special reengineering projects and takes a lead role in the planning and execution of large project implementations and training initiatives. He/she manages other subject matter experts to ensure timelines and project deliverables are met, as well as develops Web Application training material for use by Operation Trainers, coordinates field training and may supervise others.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Analyzes current operating plan to determine opportunities for improving process/workflow

  • Develops work measurement to optimize operating plan

  • Develops solutions to operational issues; works with operations management to implement changes to reach desired cost reduction and service improvements

  • Conducts operations forecasting for staffing, assets and facility needs to ensure service commitments are met

  • Maintains self-development, ongoing communications and reporting

  • Identifies issues that require training or re-training to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness

  • Provides training to management for implementation of new procedures, processes, services and technology; coordinates with process writers to create training documents

  • Assumes project management responsibilities and conducts financial analysis

Knowledge and Skills

  • Possesses excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrates strong skills in interpersonal communications, composition and creative writing

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access; SQL, Databases and AutoCAD

  • Knowledge of UPS processes, procedures and methods

  • Project management experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or related field - Preferred

  • Three years' experience in Industrial Engineering or similar role in logistics environment - Preferred
