About Applications Development at UPS Technology:
Our technology teams use expertise in applications programming & database technologies to support enterprise infrastructure. They create & support application frameworks & tools. They support deployment of applications & services across a multi-tier environment that processes up to 38 million packages in a single day (4.7 billion annually). About this role:
The Intermediate Applications Developer provides input and support for full systems life cycle management activities (e.g., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.). He/She performs tasks within planned durations and established deadlines. This position collaborates with teams to ensure effective communication in supporting the achievement of objectives. He/She provides knowledge, development, maintenance, and support for applications.
The ideal candidate has experience in Restful API development using Java spring boot. Mobile Reimagined project is redesigning the customer facing UPS Mobile apps. As part of the app updates, we are developing a mobile specific webservice layer. This service layer is developed in Java using spring boot. We are looking for Java developers with the spring boot experience who can start immediately and contribute to the development of the service layer. We are an agile team and so looking for people with Agile development experience. Containerized app deployment skills (i.e. openshift, docker .. etc) Tools and Platforms: Java/TFS-git/Jenkins/VSCode/ Openshift
The ideal candidate must be able to provide phone support on a 24/7 rotating basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience with Agile Development, J2EE Development, Java Programming and JMeter
Must have at least 1 year experience developing in Java/ APIs /Spring Boot
Knowledge of UNIX Shell
Familiarity with troubleshooting skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team player who shows initiative
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or the equivalent in education and work experience
