About Applications Development at UPS Technology:
Our technology teams use expertise in applications programming & database technologies to support enterprise infrastructure. They create & support application frameworks & tools. They support deployment of applications & services across a multi-tier environment that processes up to 38 million packages in a single day (4.7 billion annually). This team works closely with our customers to build innovative technologies that are customized to drive business goals & provide the ultimate customer experience. About this role:
The Intermediate Applications Developer provides input and support for full systems life cycle management activities (e.g., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.). He/She performs tasks within planned durations and established deadlines. This position collaborates with teams to ensure effective communication in supporting the achievement of objectives. He/She provides knowledge, development, maintenance, and support for applications.
The Intermediate Applications Developer with proven experience with J2EE web applications and Content Management System will be a key contributor to a development team using Agile methodologies. Seeking a developer with 5+ years of development experience with Java/J2EE, HTML, JavaScript, Web App Servers (Tomcat/JBOSS). Must have experience developing on Windows and Linux platforms. An experience with Content Management System is a plus. Intermediate Applications Developer will participate in the application code deployments, software patching, software upgrades, installations, and support in a Linux environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of Agile Development, J2EE Development, SQL Programming and Web Development
Familiarity of Technical Analysis and Troubleshooting skills
Experience with Linux Application Development
Experience with a Content Management System is a plus
Must be detail-oriented and a team player
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or the equivalent in education and work experience
