About Information Management at UPS Technology:

Our Information Management teams are responsible for designing and supporting data solutions to meet UPS’s rapidly changing business needs. Our team is comprised of individuals who are experts in data management, compliance and governance. We ensure quality, completeness, availability, protection, understanding and effective use of our data assets. Our ability to organize and design the wealth of data we receive each day provides the foundation which enables many of UPS’ core processes.

About this role:

The Sr. Database Analyst interacts with functional representatives, business analysts, data analysts, Systems Administration and Programming, and Applications Development project teams to apply data operations requirements to support the effective storage and retrieval of data. He/She works independently on one or more highly complex database environments. This position assists with providing the definition of logical and physical data elements for promoting data sharing, reusing data objects, and ensuring a coherent data source strategy. He/She transforms logical data models into physical databases, applying techniques based on applications’ processing needs. The Sr. Database Analyst investigates complex problems, monitors performance, contributes to back-up and recovery procedures, creates reports, and configures and installs database software. The candidate must have proficiency with C# .NET.

Minimum Qualifications:

Advanced-level proficiency with:

  • Database Administration

  • Database Performance Tuning

  • SQL Language

  • Microsoft Office

  • SQL Server Admin

  • Effective Communication

  • Self-Motivated Learner

Intermediate-level proficiency with:

  • Database Cloud Technology

  • Windows Shell scripting

  • Project management, presenting to others

  • Initiative

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
