Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 8:00am 5:00pm (Some evening and night hours) Hours Per Week: 40

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be assigned to Chief Pilot Office department in Anchorage, AK. Duties may include the following: assist in developing, updating, printing and distributing of all fleet training materials, presentations and classroom materials. Draw, design, develop and publish graphical and multi-media content used to train UPS flight crews.

Job Description:

The FlightPath Intern will assist with:

  • Assist the System Chief Pilot and Assistant Chief Pilots (ACP) with the day-to-day flight operations and pilot interaction of UPS flight crews and assets.

  • Will assist with the development, design and implementation of pertinent materials for the ACPs for better interaction and communications with flight crews.

  • Will be required to design, develop and publish graphical and multi-media content to brief and inform current operational information with flight crews during communication meetings.

  • Assist with continual implementation and tracking processes that identify and recognize top performing line crew members.

  • Awards include Aircrew Member of the Year, Community Service Award, and Aircrew Excellence.

  • Assist ACP’s with crewmember accountability by monitoring various data streams and looking for trends potentially indicating the need for ACP follow-up.

  • Assist with the United Way, Global Volunteer Month business development efforts (Take Charge) for all 2,680 crewmembers.

  • Will assist the SDF Chief Pilot with managing the new hire program; ensuring all details are covered to welcoming dinners and volunteer activities.

  • Assist with the recognition programs to include retirements, 25 and 30 year of service milestones ceremonies.

  • Provide assistance to management group with the military leave program; ensuring UPS continues to provide unparalleled support to our military members.

One year of practical experience beginning in October/November 2021. After one year, and with management’s recommendation, the intern will be able to continue in the UPS FlightPath Program at Ameriflight, the world’s largest part 135 cargo carrier.

Required Skills:

  • Currently hold Commercial Instrument pilot license (multi-engine preferred, CFI preferred)

  • Junior or Senior in an under-graduate program or less than 2 years postgraduate.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

  • 3.0 GPA

  • Experience or education in a field such as data management, computer science, graphic design, etc.
