UPS BIA Summer 2022 Intern - Web Appl. Development in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

This position supports cost planning, revenue management, and payroll overtime. The incumbent assists with financial issues pertaining to reporting, monitoring costs, reviewing production, payroll, etc. This role researches and interprets financial data to provide information to management. This position serves many groups in UPS including Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Security. This role develops interface designs incorporating appropriate visual representations of data and assists the department in meeting their goals and further UPS' Strategy, Mission, and Purpose. This position analyzes and develops intranet web-based applications including internal reporting of various business metrics and transactional applications capturing business critical information.

Responsibilities

  • Produces and analyzes various reports comparing actual expenses to planned expenses and determines financial performance

  • Analyzes financial trends and determines projected benefits for UPS

  • Meets established deadlines and budgets

  • Assists with various projects and project teams as needed

  • Uses HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development

  • Creates Web Services with ASP.NET for back-end data interaction with Structured Query Language (SQL) Server

  • Meets with end users to help write Business Requirements

  • Employs additional tools and technologies such as Dev Express, Tree Maps, Geographic Information Systems, jQuery, AJAX, and FusionCharts to add value and enhance usability

  • Meets with project team and stakeholder groups

Preferences

  • Demonstrates an understanding of basic financial terminology and concepts such as operating profit/loss and net income

  • Possesses excellent communication (oral, written, and interactive) and effective research tactics with strong organization skills

  • Conveys a positive and professional image to internal/external customers and maintains a high standards of confidentiality

  • Experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook)

  • Completed web development coursework

  • Recent graduate or pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Willing to work a minimum of 35-40 hours per week

  • Experience with SQL
