UPS Global Cross Modal Procurement Director in Atlanta, Georgia

UPS is seeking an experienced and dynamic Global Cross Modal Director to develop and manage a strategic approach to spend management across geos and transportation sub categories. He/She works closely with the Transportation category managers to ensure strategies meet business needs. The Global Cross Modal Director is expected to effectively analyze complex transportation (air, ocean and ground) networks and its demand drivers and provide reports. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure clarity of data, forecasts, specifications and expectations

  • Designs and produces effective analytics

  • Provides actionable data reports to team and assists with transportation sourcing strategies

  • Develops advanced analytics

  • Manages managers with supervisors and specialists within the department responsible for multiple transportation modes

  • Project Management: Ability to develop and/or follow prescribed project plans used to design, implement and manage projects to a successful conclusion; establishes accountability, timelines, and goals for self and team

  • Relationship Management: Ability to leverage interpersonal skills to establish rapport and develop relationships with all key stakeholders: suppliers, customers and colleagues

  • Analytical Skills: Possess strong research skills, problem solving skills, and proficient with big data; able to search, collect, analyze, manipulate, and interpret data; visualizes, articulates, and solves both complex and uncomplicated problems and concepts and make decisions that make sense based on all available information

  • Technological Skills: Ability to manage ‘big data’; recognizes the importance of developing talent and skills in this area for successful implementation

  • Results Oriented: Ability and drive to achieve and surpass targets against all standards of excellence; strives to improve the delivery of services with a commitment to continuous improvement in procurement process

  • Strong leadership experience and people management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to identify current and future needs of customers and organizations

  • Strong communication skills

  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree)

  • Strong working knowledge of basic data manipulation tools such as MS Access and Excel and advanced data manipulation tools such as SQL and Tableau, and ability to program in VBA

  • Experience collecting and analyzing data

  • 3+ years' work experience in an analytical role

  • Master's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical field - Preferred

  • International experience - Preferred

  • Revenue management or Procurement Category management experience in Airline or other Transportation industry - Preferred
