UPS Healthcare & Life Sciences Sector Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia

The Healthcare & Life Sciences Sector Analyst participates in market research, and product/program management to assist in the development and execution of Life Sciences Sector strategies. He/She is responsible for supporting a particular industry/customer segment by gathering information and performing analyses used to assess the performance of UPS’s products, services, customer segments, and value propositions. This position supervises specialists and administrative staff.

The Healthcare & Life Sciences Sector Analyst builds and runs queries to collect customer behavior and demographic information that identifies trends within targeted customer segments. He/She performs data analyses to convert raw data into relevant metrics to establish and document product/segment performance (e.g., package volume and revenue impact, break-even point, rate of return, etc.). This position writes Program Development Document for initiative (i.e., description of project, cost and revenue impacts) to establish project priorities.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Engages with customers to identify unmet needs, develop market strategies, and understand implications of trends

  • Responds to internal and external customer inquiries to answer customer questions about existing programs

  • Identifies customer trends through market research to determine potential impact and success of proposed strategies

  • Gathers, compiles and analyzes relevant research data for inclusion in presentations to stakeholders

  • Creates PowerPoint slides and narratives to be used in formal presentations to key stakeholders

  • Compiles and analyses customer survey responses to understand customers’ needs and determine useful inputs for future strategies

  • Determines employees’ training needs to produce continuous development plans

Knowledge and Skills

  • Familiar with primary information sources relevant to assigned area; utilizes computer-based analytical and information management tools in order to perform routine analysis; documents approach and findings; reviews results with others as appropriate

  • Demonstrates understanding of the purpose, benefits, and alternative methods of segmenting markets; analyzes current customer performance and market potential of defined segments; able to define the purpose, benefits and differences between value statements and value propositions

  • Familiar with the primary customer business processes in which UPS solutions are most frequently applied (e.g., order management, shipping, receiving, returns, accounts receivable and accounts payable); within area of responsibility, able to describe customer benefits through the application of UPS solutions

  • Establishes appropriate and well defined marketing objectives and strategies; identifies and evaluates a range of alternative strategies to achieve objectives

  • Demonstrates understanding of implementation objectives, project plan, and one's role within a project; participates in the implementation of a project; provides timely, thorough, and concise updates for area of responsibility; identifies areas of risk and properly communicates them to the project manager

  • Experience using Data Warehouse - Preferred
