UPS Internal Audit Intern in Atlanta, Georgia

UPS is seeking an Internal Audit Intern to analyze the internal controls related to UPS businesses, processes, and entities within the Americas District. This internship is designed to immerse interns in the corporate culture and expose them to interactions with management. Interns participate in business meetings and deliver presentations to management. This position assists the Americas District audit team with day-to-day activities as well as special projects. In addition, the intern may be asked to work with other groups in developing, streamlining, and enhancing internal processes.

Job Duties

  • Develop and administer audit planning documents

  • Perform audit tests in the areas of cash and bank, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, compliance, and other areas

  • Analyze internal processes to identify control strengths and weaknesses

  • Assist with finalizing and communicating audit reports

  • Review corrective action plans for trends and potential follow-up items

  • Coordinate with various countries in executing their self-assessment programs

  • Participate in the risk assessment process, including compiling qualitative and quantitative data and interpreting results

  • Develop project plans and lead the implementation for basic projects of short duration requiring limited coordination and resources

  • Support the development of data analytics for continuous monitoring

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Etc.) - Required

  • Rising college junior or senior, graduate student, or recent graduate (within the last 24 months) – Required

  • Available to work 20-30 hours per week (with flexible scheduling) during normal business hours – Required

  • Pursuing (or recently earned) an undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related fields – Preferred

  • Bilingual (proficient in Spanish) – Preferred

  • Experience with data analytics tools (SQL, Power BI, Access, Etc.) - Preferred

  • Detail-oriented with effective time management skills

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Proactive and results-oriented

  • Requires minimum to moderate supervision
