Job Description:

UPS is searching for a communications expert to join the team as a Supervisor of Leadership Communications. This position is responsible for executing internal and external communications projects for UPS executives, as well as managing ad-hoc projects for the broader communications function.

Responsibilities

• Supports leadership communications team in developing and managing varied communications strategies across written, spoken, recorded, live, internal, external and social media channels

• Demonstrates proven experience and organizational skills – able to effectively flex across multiple disciplines including content strategy, writing/editing, creative thinking and project management

• Contributes to planning and execution of content for UPS’s owned channels, including about.ups.com, upsers.com and enterprise social channels

• Assists in conducting research for industry awards, executive speaking opportunities, etc.

• Builds strong relationships across a matrixed team of stakeholders and works across UPS’s global communications team to assist with ad-hoc projects, as needed

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (or internationally comparable degree) or must have three years of UPS experience.

  • Must be located in the same geographical area as the job or be willing to self-relocate to the area

  • Must be available to report to the UPS corporate office in Atlanta

  • Proven expertise in impactful writing and editing

  • Communications project management experience with proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple workstreams

  • Self-starter with demonstrated professional maturity and executive presence

Preferred

  • At least two years’ experience working as a communications practitioner, either at an agency or corporation

  • Demonstrates strategic communications skills and ability to tailor messages for varied channels and audiences

  • Has experience in event management, speechwriting and/or social media writing

  • Has knowledge of digital channel platforms and technology, including social media channels

  • Demonstrates strong collaboration and negotiation skills

  • Understands communications strategy on a global scale
