UPS Legal Privacy Supervisor in Atlanta, Georgia
UPS is seeking a Legal Privacy Supervisor to support UPS’s Global Privacy Officer and help manage the company’s global privacy compliance activities. These include reviewing Privacy Impact Assessments, supporting data incidents, working directly with business partners on new and emerging technologies, engaging with UPS’s internal network of privacy coordinators and supporting the Global Privacy Office. Provides support and project coordination of privacy matters for Global Privacy Officer and International Attorneys; works closely with the Global Privacy Office on the development, effectiveness and compliance of information security and privacy policies and procedures, including the proper handling of individual’s complaints and notifications to government data protection authorities.
Evaluates Privacy Impact Assessments to determine level of risk and identify appropriate mitigation strategies; engages directly with business / project teams on same.
Supports Cyber Incident Response Team response at time of incident (including helping to manage and track work-streams amongst internal stakeholders and external partners) and in readiness activities (including the maintenance and updates of the response plan and tracking of drill corrective actions).
Supports the Information Security & Privacy Governance Council and other internal governance bodies.
Develops reports and dashboards to support Privacy & Cyber attorneys and researches, investigates, and resolves low to moderate privacy and cyber compliance issues and recommends actions to support compliance.
Certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) (or willing to become certified) and demonstrates an understanding of the functions, regulations and procedures of privacy agencies or governing bodies; maintains a thorough understanding of what the UPS privacy program consists of, such as the core data protection principles, values, processes and compliance manuals.
Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrates knowledge of Privacy principles; defines individual privacy rights; describes general security measures used to protect personal data
Demonstrates knowledge of advanced PowerPoint and Word
Captures/documents specific and accurate information; learns subjects thoroughly and in detail; completes work with thoroughness; supplies appropriate details when requested; maintains organized files
Analyzes various sources of information to assess risk and determine appropriate mitigation strategies
Demonstrates a basic understanding of the functions, regulations, and procedures of privacy agencies or governing bodies in Europe and the U.S.; takes a leadership position in programs that reduce risk and enhance privacy
Demonstrates understanding of implementation objectives, project plan, and one's role within a project; participates in the implementation of a project; provides timely, thorough, and concise updates for area of responsibility; identifies areas of risk and properly communicates them to the project manager
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) - Required
