UPS Operations Transformation Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

UPS is seeking an experienced Operations Transformation Manager to lead program management of operations initiatives across the organization. The Operations Transformation Manager will work across Operations and Non-Operations functions to deliver initiatives realizing both cultural and financial benefits. He/She facilitates progress with project teams to ensure key Diligence, Road-Mapping and Implementation milestones are achieved and ensures programs and projects are successfully executed.

This manager will demonstrate extensive experience in project and program management disciplines, data analytics and financial analysis. He/She will coach and direct project teams to ensure initiative completion and benefits realization. He/She will demonstrate experience with continuous improvement methodologies including Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, and Design Thinking. He/She will also work across a variety of business functions and situations, and be able to modify their approach appropriately. The Operations Transformation Manager will maintain a high degree of confidentiality as he/she is privy to all of the information across the business units and functions in the Transformation Office.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Engages directly with project teams and executive sponsors in the execution of Diligence/Diagnostic opportunity identification, road-mapping and implementation of prioritized initiatives through realization of cultural and financial benefits

  • Provides program management support to transformation initiatives including overseeing the development of project work plans, process analytics, change & communications and implementation planning

  • Act as a connector across work streams in order to ensure synergies are captured and built across the work streams and/or functions

  • Engages with Senior Business Leaders, Transformation team members and Change and Communications liaisons to help build the vision of the UPS Transformed culture

  • Synthesizes data and information to support effective communications across all stakeholder groups

  • Ensures business requirements and goals are attained

  • Researches and analyzes data to determine the impact of business decisions

Knowledge and Skills

  • 5+ years' professional experience driving process improvement within Operations

  • Demonstrated ability to oversee programs as well as lead projects to achieve the business outcomes

  • Ability to dissect problems into an organized approach and quickly form a hypothesis against which to pilot and experiment

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement disciplines (i.e. Agile, Lean Six Sigma and Design Thinking) with practical application experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and on paper

  • Highly developed relationship-building skills to foster effective working relationships across sponsors, functional teams and stakeholders

  • Player/Coach mentality, with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to get work done

  • Creative thinker comfortable with ambiguity and change

  • Motivated, driven and energetic with ability to challenge status quo

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Engineering - Preferred
