UPS Treasury Technology Supervisor in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

This position supports and maintains treasury management systems, banking systems, payment systems, databases and other tools used by the Global Treasury Function. The incumbent works cross functionally with key Treasury stakeholders to gather business requirements, design technical solutions, redesign processes, contribute to coding and technical development efforts, and provide technical support. This role works with cloud platforms, business intelligence tools, specialized treasury applications, databases, and programming languages to streamline processes related to data pipelines, analysis, reporting. This position leads various projects, technology implementations and ad hoc requests from both internal and external stakeholders. This role requires knowledge and experience with a variety of technologies combined with basic financial acumen.

This position performs project activities such as project management, business analysis, policies/procedures, user acceptance testing, user training, change management, production migration, and production support. The incumbent coordinates project activities involving users and I.T. team members outside of the department. This role performs business analysis by gathering, analyzing, documenting, reviewing, and communicating business needs/requirements between users and application developers. This position performs current state analysis of financial systems and business processes to identify areas for improvement. The incumbent develops global standards and process efficiencies within the global Shared Services environment. This role creates and submits change requests to track the requirement development process. The incumbent analyzes business requirements to determine validity and feasibility. This role assesses requested information to ensure alignment with business needs, objectives, and practices. This position performs user acceptance testing by planning and executing testing scenarios to verify system enhancements meet user requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Administers UPS Global Treasury systems and technology platforms

  • Builds and supports treasury processes using a variety of software/technologies

  • Develops and publishes queries and reports for Treasury users

  • Develops and maintains databases and analytical style SQL queries

  • Utilizes automation tools to enhance treasury workflows and processes

  • Creates system diagrams and business process flows to document current/future state solutions

  • Develops and executes test scenarios to ensure systems are built according to requirements

  • Acts as the liaison between treasury and the vendors of treasury and payment systems

  • Manages audits and compliance for treasury related systems

  • Leads and develops others in the team

  • Develops plans that balance details with the big picture; adapts level of detail required for a given audience

  • Manages projects through complete project lifecycle including initiation, feasibility, analysis, execution and closeout phases

  • Schedules and facilities project meetings to discuss project details

  • Captures and follows up on project issues and action items to ensure completion of project tasks

  • Documents and communicates business process and system impacts changes resulting from system enhancements

  • Gathers and documents business/functional requirements

  • Creates system diagrams and business process flows to document current and future state solutions

  • Analyzes and monitors user acceptance testing results to ensure testing objectives are met

  • Develops test scenarios to validate functionality and enhancements of systems

  • Executes test scenarios to ensure systems are built according to requirements

  • Records testing defects and coordinates with users and developers to resolve issues

  • Assesses user training needs and coordinates change management and training activities

  • Creates training materials and delivers training to users

  • Reviews production issues to escalate and resolve issues

Preferences

  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Business Intelligence Software (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Looker); ERP, TMS, and or SaaS system administration

  • Demonstrates knowledge of python programming language for data science workflows

  • Possesses experience with public cloud platforms (e.g. Azure/AWS/Google Cloud)

  • Technical aptitude to quickly learn internal and external systems

  • Captures/documents specific and accurate information, learns/completes work thoroughly, supplies appropriate details when requested, and maintains organized files

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite

  • Demonstrates and applies general understanding of technology used by the company

  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems or related field

  • Possesses experience with databases and analytical style SQL queries (e.g. Oracle, PostGres, BigQuery)

  • Demonstrates experience in leading and managing teams

  • Exhibits understanding treasury and financial concepts

  • Supervisory experience

  • Experience with enterprise finance and accounting systems

  • Experience with business analysis

  • Experience with project management
