UPS UPS Capital Legal Customer Transactions Supervisor in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

This position reviews large quantities of claim types, lawsuits, subpoena requests, and requests training for outside legal counsel on the UPS response process. The incumbent negotiates with high-profile third-party government agencies, Federal Agents, UPS customers, account executives, and law firms to clarify and finalize legal requests, make document productions, and minimize expense and risk to the organization. This position develops key UPS contacts and relationships to ensure the success and accuracy of this position. This role serves as the primary liaison to cross-functional operational management team members (e.g., Risk Management, Security, Payroll, Health & Safety, Information Security, Human Resources, and other UPS business units) to ensure accuracy of information received. This position solves internal customer questions and insurance and compliance related issues globally.

Responsibilities

  • Answers questions from the business units and staff regarding legal issues to impart understanding of business agreements and obligations

  • Works with team to identify legal and regulatory issues including conducting research (e.g., examine cases, statutes, etc.), and drafting of reports or summaries to provide recommendation or status updates on pending matters

  • Manages various legal and compliance programs and implements solutions to address common issues

  • Obtains estimates and reviews scope of work provided by external clients for adherence to company requirements

  • Reviews, monitors, and manages budgets and financial reports

  • Manages projects and programs including allocating people and resources, monitoring progress, adapts plans and identifies and resolves issues prior to launch

  • Gathers, organizes, and maintains information for various projects and legal matters, including regular updates to the Project Manager and Supervisor, which can involve collaborating with a variety of personnel and navigating systems and departments

  • Manages budgets and understands accounting processes, determines needed resources, and allocates as appropriate

  • Schedules meetings, tracks project requirements, and works with stakeholders and subject-matter experts to obtain requested information and ensure project milestones are met

  • Develops reports and dashboards to support the department

  • Drafts, reviews, and negotiates standard routine contract documents, including contract amendments, insurance agreements, marketing agreements, customer-facing technology agreements, indemnity agreements, confidentiality agreements and other agreements as identified

  • Assists in maintaining and updating contract repositories and contract templates and playbooks

  • Summarizes and communicates the customers perspective to stakeholders

  • Develops and maintains knowledge management database to ensure consistency of information across the company
