The International Finance & Accounting (IFA) Modeling Supervisor is responsible for the daily maintenance of systems. He/she supports users globally and serves as a point of contact between users, analysts, and developers (e.g. Planning & Reporting, Business Development, Pricing, Industrial Engineering, regions, etc.) for systems enhancements and production issues.

The IFA Modeling Supervisor develops operating unit costs used for bidding, reporting and planning for International. He/She collects and processes data from various internal groups (IE, F&A, Revenue Management, Marketing, etc.) for input into supported applications. He/She also analyzes data (e.g. calculated unit costs, IE studies, etc.) to define and validate business rules as required. This position solves application problems by applying the identified solution to ensure applications operate properly. The IFA Modeling Supervisor also holds others accountable to established performance levels to achieve individual and group goals.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Works with system developers to validate newly created system

  • Analyzes the general ledger to identify required data appropriate for supported systems (Bidding, Reporting and Planning)

  • Audits imported expense, volume, revenue, IE and Marketing data to ensure accuracy

  • Communicates methodology changes to regions to ensure their understanding for future model runs

  • Researches application issues and gathers data to analyze and identify root cause

  • Identifies resolutions required to fix application problems

  • Conducts performance evaluations in a consistent, fair, and objective manner to encourage continuous performance improvement

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of accounting theory and principles

  • Distinguishes between “big picture” concepts and smaller specific facts associated with work; makes efforts to understand specifics of events (causes and effects); ensures that work is completed accurately and with the appropriate level of detail

  • Possesses ability to create and enhance processes and/or reports using functions in software, and/or writing queries; identifies information required for completion and assesses existing processes and reports generated by others

  • Understands technical concepts and terminology; communicates such in ways management can relate to

  • Possess ability to evaluate data into useful insights to support decision-making and conclusions

  • Experience using UPS data (DWH, DIR, Infolib, etc.) - Preferred

  • Experience writing in programming languages (SQL) - Preferred

  • Experience demonstrating a basic knowledge of Accounting theory and principles - Preferred

  • Experience using MS Office products (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint) - Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Finance/Accounting, Engineering or related study - Preferred
