The Company
UPS is a billion dollar global leader in express parcel service. We are a Fortune 500 listed company with a formidable network serving over 220 countries, daily delivery of over 14 million shipments with the 9th largest airline fleet in the world.
We are looking for a full- time Human Resources Officer to join our HR team. The successful applicant is a switched on and driven individual who would like to expend their HR generalist knowledge in a large multinational organisation.
The Role
Assist with the full employment life-cycle for UPS' Australian and New Zealand operations
Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, including initiating background checks; medicals assessment; creation of employment contracts; contract variations and other employee correspondence
HRIS (Workday) management: maintenance of employee data and assist managers with processes
Manage Workday reporting
Manage Workers Compensation claims and assist with safe return-to-work and rehabilitation protocols
Provide support to managers and employees by advising on policies and procedures, as well as HR operations
Support the management team with industrial relations enquiries and enterprise bargaining negotiation process
Support to cyclical HR processes including policy reviews
In collaboration with the broader HR team, ensure global and local strategic HR programs and initiatives are effectively implemented
Assist with key engagement activities and UPS' recognition program
Keep up to date on best practice and minimum legal requirements
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Previous experience using Workday (HRIS)
Tertiary qualifications in HR and 1-3 years experience in a similar HR role
Knowledge of HR practices and employment law
Workers Compensation claims management experience
A proactive approach in identifying opportunities to continuously improve the HR function
Proven ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when completing tasks
Ability to work proactively and efficiently within a team environment as well as autonomously
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
