Purpose of the job:
The UPS Europe Region Legal Department, based in Brussels, Belgium, is looking to hire an additional mid-level attorney with particular experience in commercial contracts to work in the customer contracts group (CCG).
Job Profile:
Your role will consist of:
Reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements with the company’s largest customers in Europe
Liaising with internal stakeholders and management
Setting out the strategy and working on continuous process improvements of the CCG
Your Profile:
Fully qualified lawyer; at least 3 years post-qualification experience (either at a law firm, or in-house at a company) preferably in a European jurisdiction
Significant commercial contract work experience
Strong business and analytical skills – problem solving ability
Strong relationship management skills
Experience of working in an international and multicultural context
Fluent in English, other European languages are desirable
Good drafting, negotiation and communication skills
Flexible, dynamic, pragmatic, hands-on, easy-going, but structured and disciplined at the same time
Enthusiastic to be part of the business process
Drive for result and stress resistant
Client oriented, with the ability to collaborate with different types of people, both within the company and customer organizations
Able to work both independently and in a small team
Willing to travel when required
Creative and logical thinker; strategic mind set
Deductive reasoning skills; able to translate findings into conclusions and recommendations
Strong work ethic and high degree of accuracy; eye for detail; accountable
Perform well under pressure; ability to meet tight & continuous deadlines
Able to build strong relationships with both internal and external business partners
Excellent skills in MS Office; Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word
Excellent presentation and writing skills
