Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Complete Finance and Accounting, Operational and Compliance audit sections covering UPS functions within Europe and occasionally other regions.

  • Supervise non-management employees. This role may have non-management employees reporting to this position.

  • Develop audit programs, process flows, control point analyses and other auditdocumentation, particularly for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing.

  • Develop data analytic queries (or provide specifications to the I.T. Audit Group).

  • Document findings/results in the audit work papers.

  • Present findings professionally in closing meetings for assigned audit sections.

  • Demonstrate initiative by taking on added responsibilities and learning all aspects of the audit process.

  • Identify and communicate potential areas for improvement, innovation, cost reduction and revenue maximization.

  • Assume informal leadership role even when not assigned the leadership task.

  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management

Successful Candidate

  • Educated to degree level or beyond ideally with/or studying towards a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

  • Internal / operational audit or risk management background with a minimum of two years preferred.

  • Alternatively, exposure to external audit, with a knowledge of internal audit procedures.

  • Ability to train and develop junior employees.

  • Exposure to SOX testing beneficial.

  • Commercial acumen.

  • Strong relationship building skills.

  • Considerable exposure to the design and implementation of data analytics.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent time management skills required to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to think reactively, operate in a collaborative style and adopt a solution-oriented approach.

  • Strong Excel, Word, MS access and PowerPoint skills used also in combination with data analytics.

  • Willing to travel approximately 50% of the time mainly in the Europe region but may be called upon to travel to other regions.
