Purpose of the job:

The UPS EMEAI Region (Europe, Middle East, Africa and India) is headquartered in Brussels. The Legal Department is looking to hire a Legal Supervisor in Brussels.

Job Profile:

In your role as Legal Supervisor, you will work in the Brussels-based European Legal Department on a wide variety of legal matters relating to various countries, such as:

  • Working with other Brussels-based attorneys on a range of legal issues and projects, including negotiating and reviewing arrangements and agreements with customers, suppliers and other business partners.

  • Protecting and defending the company’s interests, including advising on and assisting with legal claims and disputes.

  • Assessing legal risks associated with business decisions and providing legal strategies to minimize them.

  • Liaising with different UPS departments and advising internal customers on a broad range of general legal topics.

  • Helping ensure compliance with rules and regulations.

  • Assisting with corporate housekeeping.

  • Presenting and reporting on legal issues, including contributing to the Weekly Legal Report.

  • Liaising with external Counsel.

Your Profile:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer, ideally with experience in a fast-paced office environment, as well as:

  • Fluent English, French and Dutch are required; other languages are an asset.

  • Proficient with Windows-based applications including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Reliable, meets deadlines and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Committed to high quality standards, attention to detail and a quick learner.

  • Organized, able to take the initiative and follow up without prompting.

  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels.

  • A team player with a positive outlook who is also able to work independently.

  • Comfortable in an international and multi-cultural environment.

  • Dynamic, pragmatic, hands-on and easy-going.
