UPS Strategy Development Supervisor in Brussels, Belgium

1. Job Summary

Within the Strategy Department the Strategy Development team is tasked to support the UPS Business Units in defining their European strategy and help them determine the initiatives needed to achieve their long term goals and aspirations. The team is also responsible for analyzing the European logistics market and UPS’s position therein with the aim of identifying opportunities and threats related to the different Business Units in Europe and formulating business initiatives that address them. Furthermore, the team is responsible for the translation of the strategic roadmap into the Strategic Planning & Execution plans and the business case development and approvals that are required before working with the Strategy Implementation team to execute them.

Under the leadership of the Strategy Development Director the Supervisor and Manager’s span of control will cover the following areas:

• Work with the different Business Units to define their mission and aim

• Internal analysis of Business Unit performance and strengths & weaknesses

• Gather and analyze market and customer intelligence

• Identify trends and determine business threats and opportunities

• Determine strategic themes and define strategic initiatives

• Prioritize initiatives and develop business cases

• Create strategic roadmaps

• Work with SP&E to translate the strategic roadmaps into the business plans

• Work with the Strategy Implementation team to ensure the initiatives are converted
