Job Summary: Ca ndidate must be able to make critical decisions that directly inpact the operation. Individual is responsible for reviewing all 2DA holdover volume as well as volume on inbound 1DA flights to determine what is sorted, bypassed and/or held. As inbound flight information downloads,containers will be marked as needed in AHCS. End of day tasks can include but are not limited to producing holdover information that is turned over to the 2DA operation. This position will also serve as a back-up load plan runner in certain situations. Individual will communicate regularly with IE, Hub, Ramp, RCC, OPC, Load Planning and Staff personnel. Will make critical decisions that impact movement of volume on property and wher/how that volume is processed and/or staged. Will work closely with the ramp and shift providing information as needed on container movement. Will monitor AHCS during the sort to ensure containers are processed as indicated and that any discrepancies or questionable containers are addressed timely.
Required Skills: AHCS and Load Handling are required. Knowledge of MS Office (word, excel, powerpoint and access). This position requires a very good working knowledge of the 1DA operation. Must be familiar with domestic and international SLICs and how they relate to inbound/outbound flights. Strong attendance is a must. Must be able to drive on the 1DA Ramp and navigate property during situations where asked to run1DA Load Plans.
Additional Skills: Ramp, Wing or Hub knowledge will be extremely helpful. Understanding of I.E. and OPC departments and how their plans interact with operations daily is also helpful. This position communicates with all levels of management .
Interpersonal Skills: Good people skills are a must. Must be able to communicate effectively and to be able to handle conflict in a positive way. Must be able to work under pressure and time constraints. Must be able to multi-task. Needs to be reliable and have good attendance.
Additional Comments: May be required to demonstrate AHCS knowledge as well as any other UPS applications the candidate has experience with . Job normally starts at grade 7 and progresses to grade 8. Due to the critical nature of the job and learning curve, this position will carry the same 2 year commitment as load planning supervisor (with the exception of Full-Time Management opportunities.
