UPS Warehouse Supervisor (Dartmouth) - part time in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Hire, train, recognize, supervise and discipline staff in the courier sort operations. The Hub Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising part-time supervisors and non-management employees assigned to a specific area of the operation. Responsibilities include supervision and training of all part-time supervisors, monitoring the progress of non-management employees and planning for staffing and operational needs. This position is excellent for students as UPS offers a TUITION REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM. Earn your education while working PT and attending a recognized university.
As a PT Supervisor at UPS, the candidate may be involved in:
Develop and maintain a stable workforce.
Hire, train, motivate and discipline staff as required.
Develop and enhance safety, quality, service and production programs.
Act on employee surveys and analyze specific indicators to continuously improve relationships.
Report and account on all aspects of the operation.
Maintain an effective administrative system to organize scheduling, vacations, optional days, employee records and files, seniority lists and all other required documentation.
Investigate and report on all injuries and/or auto accidents. Comply with all federally regulated Health and Safety and Labour Canada Guidelines.
Investigate and report on all service disconnects or failures.
Develop initiatives to reduce overall Hub cost and increase production.
Work with union-free administrative assistants to ensure service on all packages.
Developing and maintaining good working relationships with employees, management and customers
Conducting and participating in group meetings
Coordinating evaluations with management
Determining the optimum solution for package concerns
Supervising daily activities of package handlers and clerks to ensure that all assigned duties are accomplished safely and timely
Understanding and consistently demonstrating UPS's high ethical standards and code of conduct
Able to train in safe work methods/unload/load methods.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proactive, problem solving, decision making and leadership skills.
Good time management skills.
Able to work in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
Post-secondary education (preferred) – UPS offers a tuition reimbursement program
Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access and Outlook).

Able to work long hours when required.
