JOB SUMMARY : This internship will introduce selected candidates to UPS Flight Forward’s Flight Operations department. Interns will receive training to perform as a Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) and UAS Technician. Following completion of training, interns will assist assigned RPICs conduct UAS flights under FAA Part 135 and 107 rules. Primary duties include conducting preflight inspections, performing RPIC duties and responsibilities under Part 107, performing Visual Observer duties under Part 135, and following company standard operating procedures to ensure safe UAS flights.
OTHER DUTIES : Document and complete pre/post UAS logs. Perform equipment testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Document inventory of UAS spares/components and maintenance actions. Communicate and coordinate with internal and external entities for safe flight operations.
ADDITONAL SKILLS : Experience working in a crew environment. Tech savvy. Mechanically inclined. FAA Private Pilot certificate highly desired.
REQUIRED SKILLS: EDUCATION
Currently enrolled at an accredited university pursuing an Aviation or UAS oriented degree or have graduated with an Aviation or UAS oriented degree within the past 24 months.
Must possess an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate
