Job Description:

Ground Support Equipment Technician will properly diagnose and perform necessary repairs to gas and diesel-powered engines, hydraulic and air brake systems, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities and Duties

Perform daily maintenance and preventive maintenance on all Ground Support Equipment

Diagnose problems using test equipment, and applicable manuals. Remove, test, repair or replace components and accessories such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition components and sensors.

Operate and test ground equipment for performance assessment.

Document repairs, parts and labor on the computer.

Lift, lower, push, pull, leverage and manipulate equipment and/or packages weighing up to 70 pounds

Assist in moving packages or equipment up to 150 pounds

Simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks

Operate standard/manual transmission

Operate power, pneumatic tools

Requirements

Must have an active driver’s license issued by the state

Must be 21 years of age

Must be willing to work 2 nd * or 3* rd * shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location’s need.  *

Must possess the required hand tools required *to perform the applicable job assignment.  *

Knowledge and Skills

Current documented automotive mechanical experience

Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer

Possesses full complement of personal hand tools

Class A /B or A C ommercial Driver's License (CDL) - Preferred

Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete scheduled workday on a consistent basis

Available to work varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs

Wears personal protective equipment as required

Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions), exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather, etc.

Works cooperatively in a diverse work environment

Communicates effectively through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The starting pay for this position is $ 37.90 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.

Hired applicants are eligible for weekly pay, extensive training, 401(K), defined-benefit pension plan, medical-dental and vision after waiting and or probation period, $0 healthcare premium, paid vacation, paid sick and family and medical leave time as required by law, paid holidays, discounted employee stock purchase program.
