UPS Implementations Process Writer in Louisville, Kentucky

UPS is seeking a dynamic Implementations Process Writer. He/She participates in Implementations projects to support the requirements gathering, writing, revisions and execution of Work Instructions to document operational tasks supporting customer accounts. He/She is involved with implementation planning and execution for new customer accounts. The Implementations Process Writer also supports the development and maintenance of tools to track and measure departmental and operational performance. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops Work Instructions, Operational Flows, and JBAs

  • Identifies Customer Account Implementation criteria

  • Coordinates and tracks required documentation to enable efficient, effective, and timely implementations

  • Supports Operational Excellence activities related to active projects and within the Implementations group

  • Develops reports to measure departmental and operational performance

  • Updates processes and procedures to ensure they are up to date

Knowledge and Skills

  • Accesses appropriate databases, writes information queries, and produces customized reports. Interprets and clarifies data, as necessary

  • Applies supply chain and logistics knowledge of the flow of materials, information, and finances involved in manufacturing and distributing products

  • Uses basic operational excellence/engineering theories and principles; identifies findings from prior analyses and recommended solutions; identifies factors of production impacted by proposed changes

  • Analyzes data related to people, technology, and information to identify requirements, problems, or inefficiencies in work methods, processes, or flows

  • Recommends appropriate solutions

  • Negotiates with others by identifying desired outcomes, organizational priorities, and appropriate strategies and concessions. Asks pertinent questions, considers alternatives, persuades others, and bargains for win-win solutions

  • Synthesizes, combines and integrates information and data to form conclusions and make sound decisions and recommendations

  • Writes technical or specialized documents

  • Performs duties in self-directed environment

  • Educational experience in Engineering, Logistics / Transportation or Business - Preferred

  • Experience using Microsoft office products or equivalent software - Preferred

  • Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Access - Preferred

  • Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel - Preferred
