About Applications Development at UPS Technology:

Our Application Development teams use their expertise in programming languages and software design to develop next-generation technology. They are responsible for developing the applications which track and move up to 38 million packages in a single day (4.7 billion annually). This team works closely with all of our customers to build innovative technologies that are customized to drive our business and provide the ultimate customer experience. As a member of the applications development family, you will help UPS grow and provide valuable services across the globe.

About this role:

The Intermediate Applications Developer provides input and support for full systems life cycle management activities (e.g., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.). He/She performs tasks within planned durations and established deadlines. This position collaborates with teams to ensure effective communication in supporting the achievement of objectives. He/She provides knowledge, development, maintenance, and support for applications.

Will support development, deployment, and support of airline applications, working with a wide range of internal and external technical groups. Candidate must be able to develop web applications and develop interfaces with existing applications. Candidates should be familiar with modern web development technology and practices including Agile development, automated testing, and OpenShift or similar hosting strategy.

Possess good written and verbal communication skills, work with business representatives and cross functional technical teams on analysis and design. Responsible for translating business and functional requirements into technical design. Responsible for keeping abreast of emerging technology trends. Will be a key resource in problem resolution and training. Will participate in peer reviews and design discussions. Must possess excellent analytical and problem solving techniques. Candidate must be able to work independently with some supervision and be able to coach other developers technically.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with Agile Development, Technical Analysis, Java Programming

  • Experience with Web Development (HTML, CSS and Java Script)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Preferred candidates will have expertise in Spring Boot, Angular, and SQL.
