UPS Landing Gear Repair Coordinator in Louisville, Kentucky

Job Title: Repair Coordinator

Department: Procurement – Structures Asset Management - AMDC 740 Grade Lane, Louisville, KY 40213

Days: Monday – Friday Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm

Job Description:

The Repair Coordinator works in a dynamic office environment consisting of Administrative, Business Professional (BP) and Management personnel. Dress is business casual. He/She will review open Repair Orders and quotations on Aircraft components submitted by UPS Repair Vendors. Perform updates to Repair Orders and communicate with Vendors to resolve discrepancies associated with component repairs. The goal is to help facilitate the return of UPS asset back to UPS ASAP.

Responsibilities include:

  • Process Vendor quotes for repair of unserviceable Aircraft Components.

  • Evaluate quotes for fair and economically sound pricing based on historical data, contractual terms, market research, etc.

  • Communicate with Repair Vendors and Shops regularly regarding order status and action plans for components exceeding expected completion date.

  • Process part number/serial number changes.

  • Assist Quality Control in clearing quarantines parts, Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies for payment.

  • Research sources for repair of Aircraft Components.

  • Direct the disposition of components determined non-repairable (ex. scrap locally, return as is).

  • Advise BP's on Beyond Economic Repair (BER) units, create materials request for review to determine need for replacement.

  • Weekly conference calls to update stakeholders of component status (estimated ship dates, etc.).

Required Skills:

  • Attention to detail and able to multi-task.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of UPS computer systems such as MIPS, Air Vault and IMPACTS.

  • Knowledge or previous experience in Aircraft Materials and component repair cycle.

  • Ability to comprehend technical documents (ex. Aircraft Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), Component Maintenance Manual (CMM), Engineering Orders, etc.).

Interpersonal Skills:

Ability to work in a regulated environment with minimal supervision. Great attention to detail and prioritization skills. Must be able to communicate clearly with internal and external customers. Ability to interact and work with all levels on a daily basis. Able to make quick decisions and adjust plans under operational pressure.
