UPS Powerplant Engineer in Louisville, Kentucky

Powerplant Engineering supports the UPS fleets by maintaining airworthiness and regulatory compliance as required by the FAA. Powerplant Engineering position requires experience with aircraft large commercial gas turbine engines, federal regulations, development of modifications/repairs, project planning and project management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, aircraft/engine configuration management, certification approvals, airworthiness directives, data analysis, project development and implementation, oversight of aircraft/engine/component reliability solutions, repairs, modifications and engine repair and overhaul.

Ideal candidates for positions will possess the following desired skills and qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Hands-on approach to projects

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Ability to demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others

  • Able to work off hours which can include nights and weekends

  • Able to travel both domestically and internationally

  • An Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics License is a plus

  • Prior Airline or MRO engineering experience

Minimum Qualifications

Engineering Positions – Powerplant

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferred field is Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or other technical equivalent degree.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of Aviation Industry related engineering experience beyond your school education.

  • Proficiency in technical analysis and working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations or certification requirements.
