About Applications Development at UPS Technology:
Our technology teams use expertise in applications programming & database technologies to support enterprise infrastructure. They create & support application frameworks & tools. They support deployment of applications & services across a multi-tier environment that processes up to 38 million packages in a single day (4.7 billion annually). This team works closely with our customers to build innovative technologies that are customized to drive business goals & provide the ultimate customer experience. About this role:
The Intermediate Applications Developer will be working for Sort Planning and Route Execution (SPARx) . SPARx is a state-of-the-art project to address technical debt and to enable business initiatives relating to SurePost, Delivery Density. SPARx leverages Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for application centralization and OpenShift for automation using CI/CD pipelines.
The Intermediate Applications Developer will be part of an Agile team. He/she will participate in sprint ceremonies. He/she will provide input to user story estimation, task planning and breakdown during sprint planning. He/she is expected to complete tasks within planned durations and established deadlines and will collaborate with other team members and support emerging technologies. He/she will be involved in the maintenance and support of the product in production. He/she must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience with .Net Core, C#, Agile Development
Knowledge of of Cloud Technology, Kubernetes, DevOps, and Requirements Analysis
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, databases Firestore, Spanner, Big Query is a plus (but not required)
Must be able to work independently, be accountable, detail-oriented and should possess good troubleshooting skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or the equivalent in education and work experience
