UPS CBRII Customs Brokerage Rep in Miami, Florida

UPS Supply Chain Solutions is currently seeking a Customs Brokerage Representative II. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the complete entry process of import shipments starting with the pre-alert, processing of US Customs and other Government agencies clearance and ending with the final delivery process. The candidate in the position will have direct contact with both US Customs for proper compliance as required and US Importers to obtain essential information required for Customs Clearance.

The Customs Brokerage Representative II responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Communicate directly with US Customs, importers, carriers and other UPS offices

  • Establish contacts with frequent importers and update operational profiles as necessary

  • Secure pertinent details on importing commodities from US consignees via phone, fax, and email

  • Complete all required forms and declarations for US Customs and/or OGA

  • Classification and Valuation of merchandise

  • Provide proactive notification to customers/vendors on import entry activity

  • Advise importers of Customs and other charges when applicable toward the clearance of goods requiring special attention (Fish and Wildlife, Agriculture, FDA, etc.)

  • Make mathematical calcuations and ensure proper questions are posed to the consignee and/or shipper regarding origins, functions, value, and end use of goods being imported

  • Ensure timely filing, billing, and imaging of all files

  • Provide shipment status information in response to external requests in addtion to reviewing rates and tracing product movement

  • Prioritize work to meet Customs port specific deadlines; document packages being held on proper holds lists, etc.

  • Maintain records in accordance with the Customs Mod Act and assist with Post Entry Requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2 years CHB Experience

  • Must have a knowledge of classification process

  • Extensive Knowledge of ABI and US Customs Systems

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Accurate and rapid data entry

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • High School Diploma/General Equivalent Required

  • Bi-lingual Spanish is required; Must be fluent in reading, writing and speaking Spanish
