Job Description:

The HR Geo Services Associate roles are responsible for providing HR support to the geographies within their scope of responsibility. These roles deliver the HR services that require close physical proximity to business operations and cover one to multiple UPS locations. High level responsibilities vary by country based on the level of BPO support received (as detailed below) but may include management of employee concerns and complaints, inquiry management, implementation of local services and programs to reduce employee turnover, talent acquisition, select onboarding / offboarding activities, and on site learning facilitation.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Same responsibilities as Geo Top 5 with inclusion of activities listed below:

  • Responsible for Talent Acquisition for Professional and Hourly candidates including requisition review, job posting, management of candidate records / data, candidate assessment, interview logistics and participation (if requested), create / initiate offer letter, discuss and finalize offer terms

  • Facilitation of onboarding activities including document collection and verification

  • Support leave management activities including determination of leave eligibility, support for leave requests and processing, management of employee absence period, processing return to work, and general maintenance of leave management program

  • Assist with requests for Accommodation Management including the preparation and details of requests as well as determination

  • Processing of documents and records including collection and processing of incoming documents and records, fulfillment of request of records, and disposal of documents and records

  • Preparation and documentation along with other administrative tasks for succession planning

People Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective communications between Geo Services HR and Operations as well as across the broader HR team

Qualifications, Knowledge, & Abilities


  • Requires solving of routine issues / problems, largely through precedent and referral to general guidelines

  • Ability to function as a individual contributor (part of a broader team), with predetermined, focused scope of work

  • High degree of integrity, confidence and self-awareness that appreciates, understands and effectively negotiates within and across other cultures

  • Strong communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 3+ years of HR experience

  • Japanease and English business level required
