Job Description:

UPS is seeking a marketing manager to support strategic partnerships within the Digital Access Program (DAP) team. The DAP Marketing Manager is responsible for ongoing relationship management and identifying opportunities to strengthen the partnership through additional integration and marketing. He/She must be skilled in both negotiation and ability to present value propositions to partners to improve and grow the partnership. The DAP Marketing Manager proactively identifies gaps and problem solves. This position consults with internal subject matter experts across many functions in support of the partnership. He/She summarizes and communicates results of analyses to key stakeholders throughout the organization.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Researches and identifies platforms, marketplaces or multi carrier shipping providers as potential partner targets

  • Conducts initial engagement discussions to explore and understand potential partner’s business models, strategy and opportunity

  • Develops subject matter expertise (SME) on assigned partners strategies and additional opportunities to drive brand relevance and accelerated growth

  • Assesses if potential partnership opportunity aligns with UPS DAP vision and goals

  • Negotiates partner agreements and works closely with the UPS legal team to finalize commercial partnership

  • Cultivates existing relationships to understand customer and partner needs over time

  • Identifies and leads promotion and demand generation programs with partner and/or within UPS

  • Identifies opportunities for integration enhancements, develops value propositions and presents capabilities to partner

  • Consults with internal subject matter experts across marketing, communications, IT, GBS, Billing and Legal to develop and support the partnership

  • Actively monitors and develops metrics to determine the effectiveness of programs and initiative to inform future opportunities and priorities

  • Tracks competitor positions and strategy with partner and within ecommerce

  • Participates in development of DAP strategy and program management activities

  • Presents findings cross functionally to key stakeholders and identifies opportunities to bridge relevant initiatives

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrates strong communication, presentation development and negotiation capabilities, must be comfortable speaking and presenting to varied audiences

  • Identifies key factors behind basic problems and establishes a path to solve them; proposes approaches to solve more complicated problems; investigates and diagnoses anomalies in routine business results

  • Demonstrates understanding of implementation objectives, project plan, and one's role within a project; participates in the implementation of a project; communicates with other functions, provides timely, thorough, and concise updates for area of responsibility; identifies areas of risk and properly communicates them to the project manager

  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of products, services, and customer facing technology solutions offered by UPS along with their features and business applications within e-commerce; describes general customer profiles targeted by the partner

  • Demonstrates database skills using technical programs and UPS internal systems such as DWH and InfoLib; basic knowledge of drawing insights from data sets

  • Experience demonstrating advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Access)

  • Experience with customer engagements in marketing, sales and solutions - Preferred

  • Master’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) - Preferred


  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) or be a current UPS employee with three years of UPS experience

  • Must have experience conducting analysis

  • Must have experience demonstrating advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Access)
