UPS Industrial Engineering Supervisor in Shah Alam, Malaysia

Job Summary

The Industrial Engineering (IE) Supervisor is responsible for country IE function who shall define operational plans for air and ground network system, in-house package job set-ups and layout/space that reduce cost, meet service commitments and enable process improvement. He/She audits operating plans and procedure compliance; develops, implements, and assesses package operations’ long and short range operating plans based upon work measurement, and assists operators with implementations of improved operating plans, new services, improved procedures, and new technology. He/she serves as the communications liaison with District/Business partners, and/or other functions and coordinates initiatives that impact package operations planning requirements.


Internal Business Process

  • To conduct Plan, Do, Act Check and perform audit to ensure quality of services standard in order to improve the service and system reliability and efficiency in the Airport HUB and Package Center operations.

  • Reviews and researches daily and weekly trends (e.g., historical volume, marketing forecasts, recent economic data, etc.), and develops volume projections for planning to forecast future resource needs, layout/space and network optimization.

Financial Perspective

  • To assist IE Manager in service improvement and operational cost containment projects. Assumes cost management responsibilities and conducts financial analysis when required to ensure operational execution remains on budget and meet service KPIs.


  • Responsible for effective maintenance of the quality management system.

  • Ability to analyse, monitor and implementation of activities/projects related to country requirements.

  • To control & enhance the quality of services in order to match with the business plan, goals & objectives


  • To interact with all operation department staff and countries IE to support the overall operation flow running smoothly in achieving the operation plan & business goals & objective. Support and training countries on different methods, SEAS processes and methodology, Load Dispatch, SQR & ETC.


  • Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in any science or engineering disciplines (preferably in Industrial Engineering, Logistics & Transportations)

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in similar capacity would be advantage

  • Requires demonstrated skills in MS Office and database software (Visual Basic), have good written, verbal, and analytical skills.

  • Required Leadership, Trouble Shooting, and Communication Skill for all levels.

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
