UPS Supervisor - eSourcing Support, Center of Excellence (COE) in Singapore, Singapore

Job Summary

The COE eSourcing Support Sup supports the implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives within assigned commodities. He/she procures products and services at the highest quality and best rate. He/she works closely with category managers and business unit/functional leads to define/understand sourcing requirements that will meet business needs. The COE eSourcing Support Sup is expected to effectively conduct complex sourcing events through prescribed sourcing methodologies and tools specific by category, actively manage the events with appropriate vendor interaction, conduct bid optimization analysis and provide stakeholders award scenarios, and ensure awards are properly communicated. He/she works with suppliers to understand and improve supplier process performance and quality, optimize supply chains, and ensure requisitioning and ordering processes are in place.

The COE eSourcing Support Sup may supervise others within the department.

Other Duties

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clarity of baseline, forecasts, specifications and expectations

  • Supervises the Strategic Sourcing Process to initiate purchase requests (RFPs) for the assigned commodities

  • Analyzes the Total Cost of Ownership to determine the most desirable and best method of purchase

  • Formulates strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned category, with minimal supervision, in order to identify opportunities and optimize internal supply chain and market

  • Resolves procurement requests, issues, and inquiries (e.g., corrects proposals, obtains resources, quotations, competitive bids, etc.) to support customer’s needs

  • Assesses and validates customer needs and expectations (e.g., conducts research, evaluates resources, makes sourcing recommendations, etc.) to ensure that the right products or services are delivered on time and at the right price

  • Works with suppliers to develop and/or enhance web tools that assist with customer needs

  • Communicates with internal groups to track and drive internal compliance

  • Conducts internal assessments using price/cost analysis to substantiate research and validation for current purchasing processes

  • Develops position papers to highlight commercial and contractual issues and concerns and determine project and contractual goals

  • Interfaces with vendors to ensure ethical and fair business practices

  • Develops strategic negotiation plans to facilitate future contract negotiations

  • Provides on-going feedback and support to improve performance

  • Holds others accountable to established performance levels to achieve individual and group goals

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Math, or an equivalent technical, quantitative or business field required

  • 2+ years of work experience in an analytical role

  • Strong working knowledge of basic data manipulation tools such as MS Access and Excel

  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data

  • Possess advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel

  • Currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself

  • English and Mandarin fluent. Proficiency in an additional Asian language will be advantageous but not mandatory.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong working knowledge of advanced data manipulation tools such as SQL and Tableau

  • Experience with procurement optimization tools

  • Knowledge of basic programming languages such as VBA or Python
