UPS Inventory Specialist in Town of Middletown, Connecticut

Job Summary

This position supports the conversions of Healthcare clients to the new Helix WMS system. This role gathers the requirements for the account setup and works with IT to clarify requirements. The incumbent will work to draft and execute test plans on the system setup. This role trains operations associates on the new system and assists with production deployment. This position supports operational process writing and provides communications on status of projects.


  • Gathers user requirements from field to ensure all WMS functionality used by a client is captured

  • Analyzes requirements, and liaises with IT to ensure clarity on business requirements

  • Works to draft test plan for design collaboration testing

  • Executes tests against URS to ensure system meets quality, operational, and process engineering standards

  • Works with IT to address any functional gaps in WMS

  • Trains operations ahead of client migration to ensure knowledge on floor is in place for go-live

  • Supports pre-go live “day in the life” testing

  • Changes control management for any system enhancements/fixes

  • Supports operations through go-live activities, examples would include troubleshooting and issue management

  • Evaluates recorded customer product inventory to ensure accurate categorization

  • Analyzes customer product move requirements to identify ideal methods of movement and needed resources

  • Audits performed operational processes to identify deviations to written processes

  • Assists with operational process writing to outline work instructions and procedures

  • Participates in planning discussions with management to obtain customer needs requiring new operational processes

  • Assists with operational training to improve performance


  • Demonstrates an understanding of supply chain concepts and identifies issues within supply chain

  • Communicates quality assurance methodology and explains desired outcomes of testing; identifies the steps in project life cycle

  • Demonstrates an understanding and use of grammatical rules; expresses ideas clearly and concisely; explains the relationship of effective writing to business objectives

  • Uses engineering theories and principles; identifies findings from prior analyses, recommended solutions and factors of production impacted by proposed changes

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree)
